Gabbi's Guide to the Online UCD Bookstore

Finding out what books you need for your classes is easy! Go to the bookstore and search for your book or add your classes to the box that looks like this:

Once you've added your classes to this list by using the "Select Term, Department and Course" menu,
click on "Get Course Materials".

This should take you to a page that looks like this:

You will notice that there is a picture of the book in the left-hand corner. USE THIS PICTURE as a reference when buying the book elsewhere, just to make sure you have the right book!

Now that you've found the book(s) you need, you will notice that there is the "Used" and "New" price. I highly recommend the used book, which usually is in good condition.

Underneath these prices is the "Compare Prices..." box, which is self-explanatory. This shows competitor's prices (which are almost always cheaper than the UCD Bookstore's) but you can also use slugbooks.com to search for even more competing prices.

You may wonder why you would ever pay so much for a book when you can order it online.
The answer is simple. Sometimes you need that book immediately or you just don't have the money to buy it now and you need it now.

The UCD Bookstore lets you charge items to your Student Account, essentially allowing you to pay for the book later (this is at mybill.ucdavis.edu). Be careful though! Not paying your bill on time can sometimes mean you will get dropped from your classes!
